Born and raised in Kansas City, I discovered my passion for art and design at an early age, often experimenting with various mediums and styles. I pursued a degree in Graphic Design from MCC-Penn Valley, where I refined my technical skills in typography, layout, and visual storytelling through coursework in graphic design and photography. After graduating, I began my career as a production artist, quickly earning a reputation for my unique problem-solving approach and keen eye for detail. In my spare time, I serve as a contributing writer and photographer for a Midwest online music publication, 7eight5.com, where I provide concert reviews and share my photographs.
People know me as a talented and innovative graphic designer specializing in pre-press processes and workflows. I am recognized for a bold, modern design aesthetic and the ability to seamlessly blend creativity with strategic vision. With over thirty years of experience in the printing industry, I have developed a strong understanding of design using Adobe products and the printing processes for digital, offset, and flexography.
After I lost my job in 2023, I began interviewing for various graphic design positions. During the interview process, several potential employers expressed that I had excellent credentials and experience; however, because I did not hold a bachelor’s degree, I was not considered for further advancement in the hiring process. Once again, I enrolled at Southern New Hampshire University to earn my BA in Graphic Design and Media Arts because I don’t give up easily. I will graduate in the fall of 2025. I also hold a Bachelor of Arts degree in Digital Photography.
